The goal of the book is to serve as a clarion call to action by stakeholders, including Black people themselves, to lead with ethics in their thinking and actions to make the world a better place. Ethics is about “doing the right thing”— as enshrined in the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that promises fairness, protection, and equal justice for all.

Eight chapters are included in this book that show how the ecosystems of racism work in each area discussed. While such systems are shown through the lens of the Black experience, the extensive research included in each topic qualifies each chapter as a stand-alone up-to-the-moment “mini master’s class” on the hot issues in respective topic areas. Leading voices on relevant topics have been corralled, curated, and included in each chapter up to December 2020, rendering a clear and concise snapshot of a moving and dynamic picture.
