In 2023, thus far, Gems of Wisdom Consulting, Inc. has taken on a number of complex and important assignments for and with clients in different domains which demonstrate our team’s versatility, scope, and depth of consulting that substantially rely on our expertise as systems thinkers and analysts who are dedicated to enhancing and optimizing the ability of clients to meet their goals.
U.S. State Department: Working with Deloitte, Gems of Wisdom Consulting continued its work from the previous year on behalf of the US State Department to identify factors that lead to the retention and attrition of diverse employees. This work entailed leveraging qualitative and quantitative tools to identify, analyze, and make recommendations about policies, procedures, practices (both formal and informal) that contribute to the phenomenon. It was the first such comprehensive study ever undertaken on behalf of the US State Department.
Humanitarian Institution: On behalf of one of the recognized leaders in providing humanitarian services in crisis situations, the ICRC, Gems of Wisdom Consulting undertook an unprecedented first-ever commissioned deep analysis of the institution’s risk and financial management ecosystems and recommended options for optimizing its support systems.
Ethics and Compliance: Gems of Wisdom President, Dr. Freeman, was engaged by BizLibrary to design and deliver a course that explained the origin of ethics dating back to ancient Greek philosophers, to Stoicism, to the Social Contract, to the present day where a case has to be made for why it is important to be ethical and how being ethical relates to compliance not only for its own sake but for the sake of the continuance of civilized society.
Training Design & Delivery for Multiple Clients: The Gems team has subject matter expertise in multiple programmatic and operational domains. When clients desire training that is delivered by those who are simultaneously scholars, practitioners, and former Senior Executives, they call on Gems of Wisdom to design and deliver it, as did the World Church Service, the Graduate School, Creative Associates, and others in this year.
Trade and Exporting: Conducting analyses of trade policy and trade practices is at the heart of the Gems of Wisdom Consulting practice, given the over 30+ year experience of the company’s founder, Dr. Freeman, who has worked in over 120 countries comparing and contrasting trade systems and practices and in analyzing trade data, trade competitiveness, and trade promotion support systems. Dr. Freeman is an advisor to the US Secretary of Commerce and the US Trade Representative (USTR) on a broad range of trade matters. It is a position to which she has been continuously reappointed since 1993.
